Breaking: Gennady Golovkin signs with DAZN

Breaking, but anticipated, news in the boxing world has it that Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin has announced a 6-fight deal with DAZN. GGG is expected to fight twice per year for the next 3 years, closing out his career on the subscription network.

Gennady Golovkin is a generational talent with international appeal. We’re confident he will bring his passionate fans to the platform as we produce tentpole events with his team over the next several years.

GGG is now expected to end his career on the DAZN network while also bringing some of his own promotions to the network for subscribers.

DAZN has quickly become the new home of boxing by making the biggest events easily available to the fans. When deciding on where I wanted to continue my career, DAZN’s global vision perfectly matched my goals – not just for my career but the opportunity to showcase talented Eastern European fighters to the world. Thank you to my fans for all of the loyal support and I look forward to you joining me on DAZN.

DAZN and Golovkin are expected to hold a press conference in LA on Monday where we will hear more details.

Gennady Golovkin is expected to make his DAZN debut in June this year and will fight on PPV no more. DAZN have some of the elite middleweights on the network including Saul Canelo Alvarez and Danny Jacobs who will square off this coming May. No doubt Golovkin will want to square off against the winner after his June outing. Regardless, I am sure GGG will welcome a third fight with Canelo to complete the trilogy. The DAZN deal now makes this all the easier.
