Adonis Stevenson stable after KO

Adonis Stevenson is stable after KO on Saturday night but remains in a medically induced coma. Superman was up in the contest before a heavy KO in round 11 left him struggling to remain on all fours let alone make it to his feet. After receiving medical attention ‘Superman’ was stretchered out of the ring and taken to hospital. The news was that the former WBC Light Heavyweight Champion was in a critical condition, however news makes it to us that he is now in a stable condition.

Stevenson was felled by Oleksandr Gvozdyk, the Ukranian who was Adonis’ 10th straight defence of his WBC crown. Along the way Stevenson has beaten top opposition including Travoris Cloud, Tony Bellew and Sakio Bika. Gvozdyk, an Olympic bronze medallist in 2012 has now captured the WBC Light Heavyweight and Lineal championships in only his 16th fight, 13 of which have come by either KO, TKO or retirement of opponent. I am sure the celebrations are on hold until we all learn of further updates to Stevenson’s, of which we hope are positive and a speedy recovery.
