About the WBC (World Boxing Council)

The World Boxing Council is one of the most prestigious of the world boxing governing bodies. The infamous green belt is often the belt that budding world champions wish to chase in their quest for glory. That comes with having to face off against some of the best boxers to ever lace them up. Past champions include the likes of Sugar Ray Leonard, Mohammed Ali and Floyd Mayweather to name but only a few. The president of the WBC (World Boxing Council) is Mauricio Sulaimán. Founded in 1963 and headquartered in Mexico City, Mexico, the WBC also offers the WBC Silver, WBC Diamond and WBC Eternal title belts and status.
